You know, it's that song that you would cry in the corner at your 8th grade dance when no one would ask you to awkwardly slow sway with them.
It's one of the sappy love songs Brook and I would belt out during finals week, to help us commiserate with our stress.
(It's also in a gem of a movie, Save the Last Dance, as seen in the music video)

sometimes this gem of a song gets played on my hometown radio station, "98PXY, the number one hit music station!!" elizabeth and i were just talking about this actually, when really old songs get played on top 40 stations, etc. i heard the classic "say my name" a few weeks ago, and she heard...get this..."it wasn't me" by shaggy. ok, i can take it when a song is a few years old...but not something from 6th/7th grade. seriously.
i used to lay in bed and put that song on repeat. i would listen to it over and over and over again. it reminds me of the middle school dances at the Hoop! wow. thanks for the flashback. i will now go listen to that song... and maybe even put it on repeat. :)
i'd be lying if i said i don't have every single one of their songs memorized...

I just LOVE that last line. It ALWAYS cracks me up, every single time. I've thought about the construction of that sentence so many times, analyzing why it's funny. It's just so - archaic yet it has the word "peeps". Classic. And yoda-esque.
